Freenet AG Reports Growth Amid Market Challenges
freenet AG announced its half-year financial results, showing an increase in both adjusted EBITDA and free cash flow despite a competitive market. The company confirmed its guidance for the year. Revenues rose by 0.9% to EUR 1,213.1 million, driven by customer growth in the mobile and TV segments. Subscriber numbers increased to 10.311 million, with postpaid contracts rising by 1.7%.
In the TV and media segment, adjusted EBITDA grew significantly by 13.8%, thanks to the success of waipu.tv. Mobile communications saw stable contributions, though adjusted EBITDA slightly declined. Free cash flow increased by 5.2%, reflecting high cash conversion rates.
freenet plans to streamline its executive board to two members, aiming for greater efficiency in decision-making. CFO Ingo Arnold's contract was extended to 2029. The company maintains optimism for the year, targeting adjusted EBITDA of EUR 520 million to EUR 540 million and free cash flow of EUR 300 million to EUR 320 million.
