Friedrich Vorwerk Secures Major Contract for EWA Gas Pipeline
Friedrich Vorwerk Group SE, a leader in energy infrastructure, has been awarded a significant contract for constructing a major section of the EWA natural gas transmission pipeline. This pipeline, approximately 24 km long, will involve a joint venture with the Austrian HABAU Group and is valued in the high double-digit million range.
The EWA pipeline connects the Etzel gas storage facility to the Wardenburg compressor station and will transport gas from Wilhelmshaven's LNG terminal to Germany's gas grid. Initial construction has begun, and completion is expected by late 2025. This project forms the initial segment of the larger Etzel-Wardenburg-Drohne pipeline, with its subsequent section extending to North Rhine-Westphalia scheduled for completion by 2026.
With growing demands for new gas power plant connections and the potential 9,040 km hydrogen network, Friedrich Vorwerk anticipates continued strong demand for its services in qualified pipeline construction.
