G2 Energy and Waga Energy Partner for RNG Production at California Landfills
G2 Energy and Waga Energy have announced a collaboration to produce Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) at two Recology landfills in California. This partnership will see Waga Energy finance, build, own, and operate RNG facilities at Ostrom Road Landfill in Wheatland and Hay Road Landfill in Vacaville.
Utilizing Waga Energy's patented WAGABOX® technology, these facilities will enhance the energy conversion of landfill gas, generating up to 1,050,000 MMBtu annually. The RNG produced will be fed into the local gas network, aiming to reduce CO2 emissions by 70,000 tons annually, equivalent to 8,500 homes' energy use.
The initiative aligns with California's decarbonization goals, transforming waste gas into clean energy and supporting Recology's sustainability objectives. Commissioning is expected by 2026, marking a significant step in RNG production and emissions reduction.
