Stock price chart of GameSquare Holdings, Inc. (EBR:GAME) showing fluctuations.

Live-streaming viewership has seen a significant increase, rising 10% from Q2 2023 to 8.5 billion hours watched. Stream Hatchet, a subsidiary of GameSquare Holdings, has released its 2024 second quarter Live-Streaming Trends Report.

Throughout the first half of 2024, live streaming has surpassed its previous peak experienced during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. This resurgence is attributed to a broader range of platforms, such as Kick, Rumble, and Chzzk. Grand Theft Auto V and League of Legends remain the top games, with 510 million and 439 million hours watched, respectively.

The report highlights a decline in Twitch's market share from 70% in Q2 2023 to 60% in Q2 2024. Additionally, the dominance of top creators is waning, with the top 5% of streamers accounting for 86% of the total market share, down from 98% in Q2 2019.
