GEON(R) Mexico Announces $1.3 Million Expansion

GEON Performance Solutions, recognized as a global leader in performance polymer solutions, announced a $1.3 million expansion for their Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila, Mexico site. The expansion plans include the addition of a new production line and the upgrade of existing facilities for manufacturing polyolefin compounds.

Following the recent acquisition of Polymax, enhancing their product range with thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) technology, GEON aims to further expand their solutions geographically and within market segments. Wendy Herbst, the Chief Commercial Officer, emphasized both moves as integral to their strategy.

The expansion is set to significantly increase manufacturing capacity, adding more than 120 million pounds annually, and is expected to be completed within the year. This move reportedly aims to bolster GEON's commitment to their customers, anticipating strong growth in central Mexico and positioning GEON as a cost-effective, geographically convenient partner.

Additionally, the Ramos Arizpe facility is identified as one of GEON’s four Technology Centers of Excellence, working closely with the Global Solutions Center in Avon Lake, Ohio. This collaboration aims to foster innovations with customers in developing materials, applications, and manufacturing strategies.
