Gerdau Graphene Introduces 'NanoCORR Shield', a Graphene-Enhanced Anti-Corrosion Chemical Additive for Solvent-Based Paints
SAO PAULO, BRAZIL / ACCESSWIRE / June 11, 2024 / Gerdau Graphene, the nanotechnology company pioneering graphene-enhanced materials for industrial applications, has announced the availability of NanoCORR Shield. This new product enhances the corrosion resistance of solvent-based paints and coatings using Gerdau Graphene's exclusive G2D technology. NanoCORR Shield shows a 30-70% increase in corrosion resistance as verified by salt spray testing.
By incorporating a small amount of specially-developed graphene, NanoCORR Shield boosts the barrier effect against corrosive agents like water, oxygen, and chlorides. This additive also reduces paint consumption by allowing a thinner application while retaining performance properties, making paint production more sustainable.
NanoCORR Shield is the latest in Gerdau Graphene's lineup of additives, including G2D NanoCORR for water-based paints, G2D NanoLAV W107 for improving washability of latex-based paints, and G2D NanoDUR W102 for increasing the durability of latex floor paints. NanoDUR W102, for instance, has demonstrated a 33% reduction in paint consumption and application.
