Global Education Communities Corp. Reports Robust Fiscal 2024 Q2 Results

Global Education Communities Corp. (GECC) has disclosed its financial results for the second quarter of fiscal year 2024, showing significant growth. The financial documents were officially published on SEDAR+. For this quarter ending February 29, 2024, GECC experienced a notable increase in various revenue streams, with total revenues rising to $39,675,000, marking a 12% increase year-over-year.

Specific segments like educational revenues from Sprott Shaw College Corp (SSCC) and Sprott Shaw Language College/Vancouver International College (SSLC/VIC) saw approximately 8% growth. Moreover, rental revenues surged by 13%, driven by high occupancy rates at the GEC® King Edward property. A substantial boost was also noted in development fees and commissions, with an impressive growth of 150% in commissions and referral fees from Global Education Alliance.

The net income for the company before income taxes reached $6,377,000, turning around from a loss of $2,856,000 in the same quarter the previous year. This transformation reflects a growth of 323%. The Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization (EBITDA) also rose remarkably by 120% to $16,651,000.

Chu also highlighted the upcoming initiatives to further enhance rental revenue and reduce corporate borrowing in the coming months.
