Global Textile and Fashion Industry Gathers in Uzbekistan for 2024 Conference
From September 8 to 10, 2024, Samarkand, Uzbekistan, will host a joint conference by the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF) and the International Apparel Federation (IAF). The event, titled "Innovation, Cooperation & Regulation - Drivers of the Textile & Apparel Industry," marks the first time these federations have held their conferences together.
The conference will start with the ITMF board meeting on September 7 and will see over 500 representatives from international organizations, textile companies, brands, financial institutions, and retailers. Key figures such as Stephen Lamar from the American Apparel & Footwear Association and Dirk Vantyghem from the European Apparel and Textile Confederation will speak on topics including artificial intelligence, regulation, digitalization, ESG, and supply chains.
The event will also feature the ITMF Awards Session, presenting the ITMF Innovation & Sustainability Award 2024 and the ITMF International Cooperation Award 2024. This milestone, organized with Uztextileprom, highlights Uzbekistan's growing role in the global textile supply chain. Last year, Uzbekistan's textile industry exported $3.5 billion to over 75 countries, with plans to increase this to $6.5 billion by 2026.
Registration for the event is open online. More information can be found at https://www.itmf-iaf-conference-2024-samarkand.org/.
