Gordon & MacPhail Unveils Unique Decanter for Oldest Single Malt Scotch

Gordon & MacPhail has introduced a new decanter, designed by architect Jeanne Gang, for their 85-year-old single malt Scotch from Glenlivet Distillery, the oldest ever bottled. The 'Artistry in Oak' decanter, limited to 125 pieces, merges artistry with function, using solid bronze branches to cradle the glass vessel. Each decanter is priced at £125,000.

The decanter's design reflects the relationship between whisky and its oak cask, with its branches inspired by American oak. This release underscores Gordon & MacPhail's commitment to craftsmanship and legacy. Their partnership with American Forests further aligns with their focus on sustainable practices.

This historical whisky, matured since 1940, boasts complex flavors with notes of leather, apricot, and spices. Christie's will auction Decanter #1, with proceeds supporting forest conservation.
