Grace Pettis Drops Intimate Second Single "Horses" Ahead of New Album Release
Singer-songwriter Grace Pettis has unveiled "Horses," the second single from her upcoming album "Down To The Letter," set to release on June 14, 2024, announced by MPress Records. The new single, following "I Take Care of Me Now," explores deeper emotional terrains, reflecting on painful memories simultaneously providing strength and solace.
Pettis shared insights about the inspiration behind "Horses," linking it to her childhood experiences with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and the supportive role of her family, particularly through gifts from her grandmother. One poignant gift was an embroidered pillow of a horse drawing, symbolizing vulnerability and strength intertwined, a recurring theme in Pettis' new work. This intimate connection with her past shapes the emotional core of "Horses."
The album boasts a collaboration with producer Mary Bragg and features a mix of instrumental talents, including Josh Kaler and Owen Biddle. Jon Estes, responsible for mixing the album, also contributed his musical expertise on various instruments. The collective effort culminates in a rich blend of acoustic and heartfelt ballads alongside robust tracks, reflective of Pettis' personal and artistic journey.
