Granite Creek Copper Expands Holdings in Alaska and Partners with Cornell University
Granite Creek Copper Ltd. has announced its acquisition of the Union Bay PGM-Ni project in Alaska through staking, and a Letter of Intent (LOI) to acquire the Duke Island project. The Duke Island project, featuring 31 unpatented claims, holds promise for copper-nickel-platinum-palladium mineralization. This acquisition strategy aligns with the company's focus on critical minerals and geologic hydrogen production.
Granite Creek is collaborating with Cornell University, spearheaded by Dr. Greeshma Gadikota, to study geological hydrogen potential. Cornell has secured a grant from the US Department of Energy’s ARPA-E to explore this area. The partnership aims to enhance geological hydrogen production from ultramafic resources in Alaska, integrating it into the broader energy transition framework.
