Granite Creek Copper Secures Funding from Natural Resources Canada

Granite Creek Copper Ltd., a Canadian exploration firm, has announced the acquisition of substantial funding from Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) for its technology development project. This project has been approved for up to $2.28 million through NRCan's Energy Innovation Program, which focuses on Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) research.

The funding supports a project that targets ultramafic rocks at the Star Ni-Cu-PGE site in British Columbia, with aspirations to boost permanent carbon sequestration efforts. The initiative is spearheaded by Kemetco Research Inc., concentrating efforts on the extraction and carbonation technology development.

Tim Johnson, President & CEO, acknowledged NRCan's support, emphasizing the partnership's potential benefits for both climate and economy. Parliamentary Secretary Marc G. Serré highlighted the importance of such projects for Canada’s climate goals.
