Granite Creek Copper Unveils New Zone at Carmacks Project
Granite Creek Copper Ltd. has announced a significant finding from its 2024 drilling campaign at the Carmacks copper-gold-silver project in Yukon, Canada. The company discovered a new mineralized area termed the Gap Zone through a 1420-meter drill program spread over four holes. This zone, traced for about 170 meters, remains open for further exploration, signaling the potential for resource expansion.
The Gap Zone, located between the proposed 147 and 2000S pits, was initially identified in a 2022 geophysical survey. Observed mineralization is consistent with existing ore zones, suggesting promising outcomes upon completion of laboratory analyses. This discovery may potentially boost the mine's tonnage and lifespan.
Granite Creek Copper continues to explore the robust Carmacks project, which hosts substantial copper-gold-silver resources. The project is positioned to benefit from its proximity to the Yukon electrical grid and ongoing infrastructure improvements.
