Grid Battery Metals Begins Drilling the Clayton Valley Lithium Project

COQUITLAM, BC / ACCESSWIRE / September 12, 2024 / Grid Battery Metals Inc. (TSXV:CELL)(OTCQB:EVKRF) has announced the commencement of a reverse circulation drilling program on their claim block at Silver Peak, Clayton Valley, Nevada. The 2,300-acre tract is adjacent to Albemarle's lithium evaporation ponds and near Century Lithium Corp.'s proposed Angel Island Lithium Mine.

Company President and CEO Tim Fernback noted that despite lower lithium prices, the Clayton Valley area remains pivotal for lithium clay exploration. The project is strategically located near Albemarle Corporation's Silver Peak Mine, North America's only lithium brine mining operation.

The drilling program, expected to run until early October, aims to reach depths of 1500 ft. in multiple strategic locations. Experienced contractor Envirotech Drilling LLC will execute the program, supervised by Rangefront Geological and Steven McMillin, an independent qualified person.

The initiative aims to identify clay and sediment layers and water zones down to older basement rocks. Samples, including drill cuttings and collected water, will be assayed. McMillin highlighted a major northeast fault on the claim block, indicating potential lithium accumulation within claystone and brine based on geophysics and soil sample data.
