Grid Battery Metals Drilling Update on its Clayton Valley Lithium Project
Grid Battery Metals Inc. announced significant progress in its drilling program at Silver Peak, Clayton Valley, Nevada. The Company has initiated a reverse circulation drilling project on their 2,300-acre claim, adjacent to Albemarle’s lithium operation and near Century Lithium Corp.'s proposed mine. The first hole reached over 870 feet, with plans for future holes to extend to 1500 feet.
Company President Tim Fernback highlighted the strategic location of their property next to Albemarle's Silver Peak Mine, North America's sole lithium brine operation. The goal is to assess lithium brine and claystone depths, aiming for further exploration and an eventual resource calculation. Fernback stated that drilling will continue until early October, supervised by Envirotech Drilling LLC and Rangefront Geological.
Qualified Person Steven McMillin noted evidence of geothermal activity and significant geological features in initial drilling. Findings include hydrothermally altered sediments and promising clay zones, suggesting potential lithium mobility at depth.
Grid Battery Metals also revised its marketing contract with i2i Marketing Group, with detailed payment schedules extending into early 2025. The Company remains focused on exploring high-value battery metals essential for the electric vehicle market.
