Grupo EULEN and Anew Climate to Expand Nature-Based Climate Mitigation in Spain
Grupo EULEN and Anew Climate, LLC have announced an agreement to develop nature-based climate mitigation projects in Spain. This partnership aims to generate new carbon financing opportunities for large forest owners. Utilizing Grupo EULEN's regional operations and Anew Climate's experience in developing decarbonization plans, the projects will bolster nature-based carbon reduction efforts within the EU, supporting the goals of the Paris Agreement and the "Fit for 55" initiative.
Juan Carlos Moya, Director of Environment at Grupo EULEN, stated, "We are proud of our long history of ethical innovation in Spain. We look forward to working with Anew and Spanish forest owners on climate mitigation projects. Both companies share the urgency of innovating and collaborating across sectors and borders to achieve global climate goals. We are hopeful about what we can achieve for future generations."
Tomás Stocker, Director of Environmental Products at Anew Climate, noted, "Together with EULEN Medio Ambiente, we are creating new income opportunities for landowners through climate-friendly land management practices that also restore ecosystems and improve community health. This expanded product portfolio will also serve our European clients seeking high-quality carbon credits for their climate action plans. We are excited to drive this positive change through environmental markets."
Anew Climate generates third-party certified carbon credits through integrated forest management practices that demonstrably reduce and capture CO2 emissions. These projects are expected to produce high-quality, verified carbon credits, offsetting traditional land ownership costs and reducing the need for intensive logging, deforestation, or land abandonment.
