Guanajuato Silver Company Expands Processing Capabilities Through New Agreement
Guanajuato Silver Company Ltd. announced a new gold and silver processing agreement with Guanajuato-based REM Marfil, S.A. De C.V. This collaboration will enable the processing of minerals from the La Providencia mine at Guanajuato Silver's El Cubo and Cata facilities. According to Chairman & CEO James Anderson, this agreement is a step towards maximizing the milling facilities' operating capacity by processing additional locally sourced material.
The agreement outlines the processing of 80,000 dry metric tonnes of material, with specific minimum grades for gold and silver. This initiative not only promotes the utilization of historical mining sites within Guanajuato and San Felipe but also expects to begin concentrate production in April 2024. The utilization of silver equivalent calculations reflects a comprehensive approach to resource valuation.
As a precious metals producer, Guanajuato Silver is engaged in revitalizing past-producing mines across central Mexico. It operates several mines and processing facilities, positioning itself as a significant silver producer in the region. This expansion aligns with the company's growth trajectory and operational objectives, focusing on leveraging local resources for enhanced production outcomes.
