Hep Solar Advances with U.S. Projects: Perendale Park Completed, Dill and McDowell to Start in September
Güglingen, 23 July 2024 – Hep solar is progressing well with its U.S. solar projects. The Perendale solar project in Mocksville, North Carolina, is now complete. Preparations for the Dill and McDowell parks, also in North Carolina, are on track, with construction expected to begin in September.
The Perendale solar park, managed by hep Kapitalverwaltungsgesellschaft (KVG), has been connected to the grid on a trial basis. It features almost 18,200 modules with a future capacity of approximately 9.8 MWp (DC). Energy United, a large electricity cooperative in North Carolina, will be the customer for the produced electricity.
Preparations at the Dill and McDowell solar parks are proceeding as scheduled. Dill will have a capacity of around 13.3 MWp (DC), while McDowell will have around 2.5 MWp (DC). Construction for Dill will take around 15 months, and 11 months for McDowell.
The Piedmont region of North Carolina offers ideal conditions for solar parks due to its temperate climate and high solar irradiance. The Appalachian Mountains provide a shield against winter storms, contributing to the region's suitability for solar energy projects.
