Hep Solar Secures Approval for Largest Solar Project in Canada
Güglingen, 13 May 2024 – Hep solar, a German firm specializing in solar parks, has gained regulatory approval from the Alberta Utilities Commission to commence the Alderson project in Alberta, Canada. This initiative, with a capacity over 120 MWp, marks the largest solar venture by hep solar.
The company ensures timely project advancement by securing early contracts for critical infrastructure. This strategic planning aids in combating supply chain disruptions. Additionally, financing goes as planned, ensuring work on the project begins in Q3 2024.
Located in southern Alberta, the 270-hectare solar park will host approximately 200,000 solar modules, capable of producing around 193,000 MWh annually, sufficient to power about 26,800 households. This region is increasingly becoming a favorable site for solar investments due to high solar radiation and a supportive environment for renewable energy transition.
Furthermore, hep global GmbH has surpassed its sales forecast for 2023, achieving over EUR 70 million against an expected EUR 50 to 60 million, as per the unaudited financial data. Positive EBIT and consolidated profits align well with the company's anticipated financial health.
