Historic Mansion in New Bern Revamped as E-Boutique Hotel

The Harvey, located in the historic heart of New Bern, NC, announced its official reopening as a luxurious e-Boutique hotel. After an extensive restoration, this landmark, housed in a building from 1797, will start accepting guests from May 10, 2024. Operated by Heron Hospitality, this 10-room facility marries historic charm with cutting-edge technology, including digital check-in and smart lock systems.

Historically, the site has served various roles, from a family residence to Civil War barracks, and most recently a learning lab. The transformation project, which started in late 2020, was managed in collaboration with the city's Historic Preservation Commission and MBF Architects—preserving significant architectural elements while integrating modern amenities.

Charles Cushman, CEO of Heron Hospitality, expressed excitement about the project, indicating it as a blend of New Bern's rich heritage and innovative future hospitality trends. The property’s strategic location and unique offerings are aimed at enhancing the guest experience in the backdrop of New Bern’s rising tourism demand.
