HKSTP Showcases Top Biotech Innovations and Attracts Global Enterprises at US BIO 2024

The Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) is leading a delegation of 16 elite park companies to the BIO International Convention (BIO 2024) in San Diego, USA, from June 3 to 6, 2024. This marks HKSTP's notable return to the world's largest biotech event since 2019, aiming to strengthen Hong Kong's position as a global biotech hub and attract investment, talent, and companies.

A dynamic 1,000-square-foot Hong Kong Pavilion is showcasing innovative products and services, facilitating over 80 One-on-One partnering meetings. The Pavilion includes companies from various biotechnology sectors, demonstrating Hong Kong's biotech strengths and scope.

Significantly, the Centre for Chinese Herbal Medicine Drug Development from InnoHK is participating for the first time, highlighting modern advancements in Chinese medicine and its breakthroughs in disease treatment.

Dr. Grace Lau, Head of Institute for Translational Research of HKSTP, emphasized the importance of global exposure and connectivity for their companies. Albert Wong, CEO of HKSTP, highlighted Hong Kong's strategic position and robust R&D capabilities, aiding in its development as a global biotech powerhouse.

HKSTP also aims to attract overseas biotech companies considering establishing operations in Hong Kong through targeted scouting and networking opportunities. Following the convention, the delegation will engage in a biotechnology tour in Los Angeles on June 7, visiting key organizations and facilities.
