HMS Bergbau AG Achieves Record Results in 2023

HMS Bergbau AG, a leading raw materials trading company in Germany, has reported record financial results for 2023. Sales increased by 33% to EUR 1,298 million, up from EUR 973 million in the previous year. EBITDA reached EUR 15,661 thousand compared to EUR 15,354 thousand in 2022. The net profit rose by 20% to EUR 12,435 thousand from EUR 10,390 thousand.

The company has seen substantial growth despite declining raw material prices. Significant milestones achieved in 2023 include an expansion in financing, vertical integration of production, handling, and transportation, and market growth in the USA, Africa, and the Far East. Additionally, trading now includes ores, metals, cement products, and petcoke.

Subsidiaries in Zimbabwe and Dubai, established in 2022, commenced operations. Cash reserves increased to EUR 36.0 million, and equity rose by EUR 8.6 million to EUR 40.7 million by the end of 2023. A dividend of EUR 0.92 per share has been proposed, up from EUR 0.77 the previous year, to be voted on in the upcoming Annual General Meeting.

For 2024, HMS Bergbau AG forecasts sales of EUR 1.3 billion with a positive EBITDA in the lower double-digit million euro range, maintaining a focus on adapting to market conditions and continuing its transformation process.
