HMS Bergbau AG Reports Strong Earnings in H1 2025 amid Challenging Conditions
HMS Bergbau AG, a leading German commodities trading company, reported an increase in earnings for the first half of 2025 despite global economic challenges. The company's earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) rose by around 5% to EUR 8.3 million, even as sales dropped from EUR 731.4 million to EUR 643.0 million due to price effects. The net profit for the period was EUR 5.8 million, up from EUR 5.5 million in the previous year.
During this period, HMS Bergbau pursued strategic initiatives to diversify its operations, strengthening its presence in the liquid fuels sector and planning to expand its activities along the value chain. With increased liquidity and available financing, the company is positioned to support its growth ambitions.
The management continues to expect to meet the full-year financial targets of EUR 1.5 billion in sales and EUR 20 million in EBITDA. An investor and media webcast is scheduled to discuss the company's outlook and performance.
