Holcim to Enhance Board with Election of New Independent Directors

Holcim Group has officially proposed Catrin Hinkel for election to its Board of Directors in a recent announcement. Hinkel, currently serving as the CEO of Microsoft Switzerland, brings over 25 years of experience in the technology sector. She is among the nominees, including Michael H. McGarry, set to stand for election at Holcim’s Annual General Meeting on May 8, 2024.

The addition of Hinkel is part of Holcim's initiative to diversify its board, ensuring a blend of expertise and experience crucial to the company's governance. If elected, the Board will consist of 11 members, the majority of whom are recognized as independent under the Swiss Code of Best Practice for Corporate Governance.

Hinkel’s tech background is extensive, including notable positions at Accenture and active involvement in various executive committees and boards such as Digital Switzerland and the ASUT Industry Association Board. Her efforts in digital innovation have earned her recognition, including being named one of Switzerland’s Digital Shapers 2022 by BILANZ magazine and appearing on Forbes DACH’s list of C-suite Women in Tech.
