Homann Holzwerkstoffe Publishes Third Sustainability Report
Homann Holzwerkstoffe GmbH announced the publication of its third Sustainability Report. The report highlights key achievements in sustainability goals, including employee training and participation in the EU EcoReFibre research project.
The company succeeded in increasing the proportion of trainees and apprentices to 5% earlier than its 2026 target. Investments were made in new plant and machinery to reduce emissions, and the company is preparing for the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive.
Homann Holzwerkstoffe sources sawmill waste and thinned wood from sustainable forests, and initial results from the EcoReFibre project show promise for recycled wood use in fibreboard production. Efforts also focused on the sustainable replacement of other raw materials.
The company continues to invest in emission reduction, exemplified by the new water treatment plant at its Krosno site, scheduled to begin operations in 2024. This plant aims to reduce groundwater extraction and carbon emissions.
