Hop on a Cure Donates $250,000 to Massachusetts General Hospital’s ALS Center

Hop on a Cure, known for its advocacy against ALS, has contributed $250,000 to the Department of Neurology's Sean M. Healey & AMG Center for ALS at Massachusetts General Hospital. This donation will fund the research project titled "Exploring the Effect of Statins to Restore Stathmin-2 Function and Promote Motor Neuron Regeneration." The research is spearheaded by Matthew Nolan, PhD, under the guidance of Clotilde Lagier-Tourenne, MD, PhD. Their focus is on the critical role of stathmin-2 in motor neuron health, a potentially groundbreaking approach in ALS treatment.

CEO Nic Shefrin expressed enthusiasm about supporting both the research and emerging scientists like Dr. Nolan committed to ALS studies. In tandem with this contribution, Hop on a Cure will participate in fundraising activities during the Boston College ALS Awareness Game, aimed at further supporting ALS research and awareness.

Founded in 2022 by John Driskell Hopkins, Hop on a Cure leverages its unique platform to enhance ALS awareness and fund research initiatives. Hopkins, diagnosed with ALS in 2021, aims to make significant strides in finding treatments for this disease through his organization.
