Hope for Haiti Inaugurates New School Block at Roger Dunwell Community School

Hope for Haiti has celebrated the inauguration of a new school block at the Roger Dunwell Community School of Tête L'Étang. Completed with support from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, this facility aims to improve education in Haiti despite the country's recent challenges.

The new school block, thanks to the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, offers a safe learning environment and increases enrollment capacities. It ensures quality education for children in Tête L'Étang and provides necessary resources for success.

Named after the late Roger Dunwell, a humanitarian, the project honors his legacy with significant support from the Dunwell/Assad family. Skyler Badenoch, CEO of Hope for Haiti, highlighted the resilience of the Haitian people and acknowledged the support received for this educational milestone.

Alix Cantave, a senior program officer at the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, commented on the positive impact this project will have on student retention and health outcomes, aligning with a strategic plan focused on teacher development and school leadership.

Hope for Haiti's partnership with the Tête L'Étang community began in 2008, focusing on water and hygiene projects, with additional support for teachers starting in 2010. This project's success highlights the continuing efforts to bring hope and progress to Haiti's educational landscape.
