Aztelekom and Huawei Bring Near Nationwide Broadband to Azerbaijan

Aztelekom, in partnership with Huawei, has successfully achieved near nationwide broadband coverage in Azerbaijan through the "Online Azerbaijan" initiative. The project, aligning with government targets to boost internet speeds to 50 Mbps by 2025, now provides high-speed internet to 99.7% of the nation.

This initiative has connected 3 million households and businesses, significantly enhancing access to digital services. With Huawei's support, the rollout involved upgrading to all-optical gigabit fiber solutions, replacing outdated copper networks, and aligning with the TECH4ALL program for digital inclusion.

Strategically aiming at reducing digital disparity, the project has propelled Azerbaijan up the UN E-Government Development Index, achieving top-tier status by 2025. Future phases will focus on 5G expansion and adopting green technologies.
