Huawei Promotes Open Innovation at Sixth Innovation and IP Forum

Huawei held its sixth Innovation and Intellectual Property Forum on November 11, 2025, in Beijing. The event highlighted the company's commitment to open innovation and recognized the recipients of its "Top Ten Inventions" award. Chief Legal Officer Liuping Song emphasized Huawei’s dedication to protecting both their own and others' intellectual property rights.

Huawei reported a patent licensing revenue of approximately US$630 million in 2024, with patent royalties paid being nearly triple what it received. The firm demonstrated its innovation leadership with 6,600 PCT applications and 37,000 patents published in 2024.

The company launched significant updates to the Chaspark Patent platform, enhancing accessibility for global researchers. Huawei’s efforts in fostering open innovation were further supported by contributions from leaders such as Marco Alemán of WIPO and Etienne Sanz de Acedo of the International Trademark Association.
