Imerys Initiates Exclusive Sale Negotiations for Paper Market Assets with Flacks Group
On March 28, 2024, Imerys, a leading global supplier of mineral-based specialty solutions, announced its entry into exclusive negotiations with Flacks Group for the sale of its assets dedicated to the paper market. Flacks Group, a US-based investment firm specialized in mid-size corporate spin-offs and carve-outs, could potentially acquire these assets following the completion of several customary conditions, including regulatory approvals and consultations with relevant work councils. The transaction is anticipated to conclude within the year.
The assets in question are operated by about 900 employees across 24 plants situated in the Americas, Asia, and some European locations, generating approximately €370m in sales in 2023. This move illustrates Imerys' strategic repositioning and its focus on enhancing its portfolio, catering to industries and markets with rapid growth such as renewable energy solutions, sustainable construction, and natural consumer goods solutions.
