Impact Environmental Group Publishes 2023 ESG Achievements
Impact Environmental Group (IEG), a premier supplier to the global waste industry, has released its 2023 Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) report. Over the past year, IEG expanded its ESG program across all facilities in the U.S. and U.K., enhancing its commitment to sustainability. The firm reported significant ecological impacts, including the diversion of 13.6 million pounds of truck tires from incineration and the salvaging of 7.7 million pounds of steel for reprocessing.
The 2023 ESG report highlighted the introduction of the Dura-Bottom Container Repair System aimed at extending asset life and reducing carbon emissions. Safety improvements were noted through the expansion of the Safety Squad program, improving workplace safety and lowering the Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR). Additionally, IEG's initiatives led to CO2 emissions avoidance equivalent to removing 11,588 cars from the roads, marking an 18% improvement over the 2022 report. Chad Abrahamson, Chief Sustainability Officer, expressed pride in the substantial intertwining of supply chain strategies with ESG commitments.
