International Battery Metals Announces Leadership Transition
International Battery Metals Ltd. (IBAT), located in Vancouver and Houston, has announced a leadership change. Donald E. Bender, Vice President of Technology & Engineering, assumes the role of Interim Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Formerly holding the interim CEO position, Garrett Galloway will return to his previous role as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development.
John Burba, Chairman, emphasized the company's focus on global project opportunities. Bender's extensive knowledge of IBAT's modular direct lithium extraction technology gives him an advantage in leading the company. Meanwhile, Galloway will concentrate on forging partnerships and commercial agreements, aiming for successful project execution.
Bender, who joined IBAT in 2024, has a wealth of experience in chemical process engineering, including significant roles at Candle Lithium and Prairie Lithium. His background prepares him for guiding IBAT's strategic initiatives.
