The CLAP@JC Conference, focusing on the career and life development for youth in the 21st-century digital era, commenced today at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. This event, supported by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust since 2015, aims to facilitate a smooth transition from education to employment for Hong Kong's youth. Notable speakers include representatives from the OECD, highlighting the importance of education in preparing students for future challenges.
Andreas Schleicher of the OECD delivered the keynote on the future of education, emphasizing the need for proactive educational roles to equip students with positivity, self-esteem, and an understanding of various success pathways. The conference will cover topics related to the aspirations of young people, the future of work, and effective education-to-work transitions. Moreover, interactive workshops, youth-led exhibitions, and performances are part of the event, showcasing diverse talents and career pathways.
CLAP@JC's continued efforts, funded by a significant donation from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, have already impacted over 100,000 students and introduced a systematic framework for career and life development practiced by numerous educational and community youth services in Hong Kong. This conference marks a decade of progress and aims to further align youth development strategies with the evolving global landscape.
