Ivanhoe Electric Utilizes Advanced Machine Learning Software at Tintic Project
Ivanhoe Electric Inc., in collaboration with its subsidiary Computational Geosciences Inc. (CGI), announces the application of CGI's latest machine-learning software for interpreting Typhoon™ survey data at the Tintic Copper-Gold-Silver project in Utah. This innovative technology, known for its enhanced data processing quality and speed, has been instrumental in refining drilling targets at Tintic, contributing to a more efficient exploration strategy.
CGI's proprietary algorithms have shown significant improvements in the geophysical inversion modeling process, enabling faster and more accurate identification of mineral exploration targets. The updated Typhoon™ survey data from Tintic has validated current exploration areas and pinpointed new anomalies. With a substantial 94% ownership in CGI, Ivanhoe Electric is leveraging this technology not only in the United States but also in its Saudi Arabian exploration endeavors in partnership with Ma'aden.
Taylor Melvin, President and CEO of Ivanhoe Electric, expresses confidence in CGI’s machine learning software, emphasizing its role in generating clearer geological models to guide future explorations. The technological advancements are said to enhance the signal-to-noise ratio of the input data, leading to improved three-dimensional inversion models. In addition to Tintic, Ivanhoe Electric applies these methods in other projects, including recent surveys in Saudi Arabia and its Hog Heaven project in Montana.
As Ivanhoe Electric continues to explore the Deep Mammoth area at Tintic, the efficacy of CGI’s software in identifying high-priority exploration sites underscores the company's commitment to advancing mineral exploration technologies. Regular site tours are scheduled to showcase ongoing advancements and exploration efforts.
