JOGO Health Announces Collaboration With Mayo Clinic to Study Tremors
BRIDGEWATER, NJ / ACCESSWIRE / July 16, 2024 / JOGO Health, a developer of non-invasive digital therapeutics, has announced a collaboration with the Mayo Clinic to study tremors. The two companies will leverage their combined expertise in medical analysis and device development to research various tremors, including Parkinson's tremors, functional tremors (FT), and essential tremors (ET). This initiative aims to develop AI-driven digital therapeutics for these conditions.
The study will focus on individuals with functional tremors, which are particularly challenging to treat due to the need for specialized therapy rather than medication. Current treatment options are limited, often requiring patients to take significant time off work or school.
Gary Krasilovsky, PhD, Chief Scientific Officer of JOGO Health, expressed optimism about the collaboration, hoping it will yield significant results that expand treatment options. JOGO Health CEO Sanjai Murali highlighted the potential impact on patient lives, emphasizing the fusion of Mayo Clinic's and JOGO's expertise.
JOGO Health's AI-based, non-invasive device, JOGO-Gx, has shown early promise as a treatment for Parkinson's Disease. The collaborative study is set to run for one year starting in September 2024. Mayo Clinic will use its revenue from the technology to support its not-for-profit mission in patient care, education, and research.
