John R. Lewis Legacy Institute Launches Camp Promise in Atlanta

The John R. Lewis Legacy Institute (JRLLI) announces the inaugural Camp Promise in Atlanta, hosted at Emory University from July 19 to July 21, 2024. This event, presented by The Same House, aims to provide young men with essential life skills and leadership qualities through a series of comprehensive workshops and a dynamic speaker forum.

Workshops at Camp Promise cover a wide range of topics, including financial literacy, health and wellness, and workforce readiness. Additional sessions will discuss leadership and empowerment, making positive life choices, and building a sense of community engagement inspired by John Lewis's legacy.

The JRLLI Speaker Forum will feature influential figures sharing their personal journeys and insights on leadership and community involvement. This initiative is designed to broaden perspectives and inspire campers to pursue their goals while reinforcing the values taught in the workshops. Experienced mentors and instructors will facilitate each session.

Corporate and community partners like Emory University's Goizueta Business School, Georgia Power, and Chick-Fil-A support the camp. Camp Promise remains free for rising 9th to 12th graders, aiming to empower future leaders.
