Jungfraubahn Holding AG Appoints Oliver Hammel as New CEO
Jungfraubahn Holding AG announced the appointment of Oliver Hammel as the new CEO of Jungfrau Railways. The decision was made unanimously by the Boards of Directors of both Jungfraubahn Holding AG and Berner Oberland-Bahnen AG. Hammel will succeed Urs Kessler, who will retire in June 2025.
Currently residing in Thailand, Hammel brings significant international experience to his new role. He has been Director of the Technology Division for DKSH in various markets including Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Myanmar. Previously, he held leadership roles in China, as well as EROWA AG.
Heinz Karrer, Chairman of Jungfraubahn Holding AG, expressed confidence in Hammel’s ability to lead the company into the future. David Beeler of Berner Oberland-Bahnen AG highlighted Hammel's economic thinking and entrepreneurial approach.
Hammel is eager to return to Switzerland and take on his new role, emphasizing the importance of tradition and innovation. He looks forward to building on the company's solid strategy with the support of the Executive Board and employees.
