Kalo Gold Reports Promising Discoveries in Fiji's Epithermal Gold System
Kalo Gold Corp. announced promising sampling results from its Vatu Aurum Project in Fiji, revealing an extensive epithermal gold system. Trench sampling along the Namalau Trend returned gold values up to 2.06 grams per tonne (g/t), suggesting a fertile gold-bearing system across multiple zones over a 2-kilometer area. These findings indicate significant district-scale potential with geological similarities to major Pacific Rim deposits.
The project exhibits favorable geochemical signatures, including high selenium, mercury, and arsenic levels, which are indicative of an active epithermal system. This aligns with geological features found in renowned deposits like the Lihir and Hauraki goldfields.
Kalo's CEO, Terry L. Tucker, highlighted the potential for significant gold mineralization, emphasizing systematic exploration and technical assessment. Future exploration efforts will focus on diamond drilling to confirm continuity and grade at depth, although the realizations of significant mineral resources remain uncertain.
