KAP AG Navigates Challenging 2024 Market Conditions
KAP AG reported a 5.8% decline in revenue for the first nine months of 2024, amounting to €237.2 million compared to €251.9 million the previous year. Despite the decline, structural efficiency improvements resulted in a 5.6% increase in normalised EBITDA, reaching €17.1 million, up from €16.2 million. This reflects the company's strategic adjustments amid weak demand, especially in the automotive sector.
The precision components segment was sold, aligning with KAP's portfolio strategy. The engineered products segment saw a 9.4% revenue drop but improved profitability, with normalised EBITDA rising by 59.2%. In contrast, the flexible films segment thrived with a 6.0% revenue increase, boosting its normalised EBITDA by 14.0%.
The surface technologies segment struggled due to subdued automotive demand, with an 11.4% revenue decrease. Overall, KAP AG confirmed its forecast for a modest revenue increase and significant EBITDA growth for the full year.
