KEMA Labs Bolsters Energy Projects with HV Testing Across Europe

KEMA Labs, a CESI Business Unit, is playing a crucial role in the energy sector's transformation within Europe. As part of this transition, the reliability of high-voltage (HV) components is increasingly important, with KEMA Labs conducting rigorous commissioning tests to assure functionality and prevent outages.

Among their projects is TenneT's Hollandse Kust Noord in the Netherlands, which incorporates new North Sea wind farms into the national power grid. The lab conducted extensive testing at the Wijk aan Zee substation, using advanced technology to identify and rectify potential insulation issues, ensuring seamless grid integration.

Additionally, KEMA Labs supported the 66 kV submarine cable project in Iceland for Landsnet, tackling logistical challenges in a remote environment to assure cable integrity and energy security for Heimaey Island.

With global HV grid expansion, KEMA Labs remains vital in ensuring reliable and safe energy infrastructure.
