KFC Africa Unveils Global Blueprint to Combat Child Hunger

KFC Africa has released a new initiative aimed at ending child hunger, which was unveiled in Johannesburg on October 7, 2025. Moving beyond its famous 11 herbs and spices, KFC has open-sourced the plan for "Add Hope," a feeding program in South Africa. This initiative coincides with World Food Day, aiming to share and scale the model globally.

The unveiling took place at "The Biggest Hunger Hack," where young innovators collaborated on improving this 16-year-old scheme. The program involves contributions from KFC customers and sees meals distributed to children in need across South Africa. A milestone of over R1 billion in donations has already been reached, highlighting the program's success through collaboration.

KFC Africa hopes to expand its partnerships to further scale the initiative. They are also testing hackathon-generated ideas, with a proposal set for the National Convention in 2026. This marks a shift in how major corporations can tackle social issues collaboratively.
