Klöckner & Co Boosts North American Presence with New Aluminum Facility

Klöckner & Co is advancing its North American presence by investing in a new aluminum processing facility located on Aluminum Dynamics LLC's campus in Columbus, Mississippi. This strategic move aligns with the company's goal of expanding its product and service portfolio for higher value-added offerings and mitigating its dependence on fluctuating steel prices.

The new facility is seen as a crucial step in Klöckner's ongoing expansion, especially in the automotive and industrial segments in the US and Mexico. The plant will enable the company to leverage its strong partnership with Aluminum Dynamics' parent, Steel Dynamics Inc., and support a sustainable approach by processing CO2-reduced aluminum products.

John Ganem, CEO of Kloeckner Metals Corporation, emphasizes the focus on the customer value chain, projecting significant growth in the automotive and industrial markets. The facility is set to open in Q4 2026, further anchoring Klöckner's role in sustainable processing solutions across its network in North America.
