Kontron Secures Major Contract in U.S. Defense Sector

Kontron AG, a prominent IoT technology firm, has announced a significant contract within the U.S. defense sector. The agreement strengthens its role in autonomous control applications for air travel by supplying SOSA™ standard-compliant hardware for unmanned aerial vehicles.

As a leader in VPX solutions, Kontron addresses high-performance computing and data communication needs for secure applications. The company's solutions are ITAR-certified, ensuring adherence to U.S. defense export regulations. This new partnership is projected to generate approximately $20 million in revenue, attributed to Kontron’s advanced technology and international collaborative efforts.

This strategic deal positions the company for expansion into land vehicle control and other emerging markets. Kontron recorded sustained growth with incoming IoT orders amounting to EUR 920 million in the first nine months of 2024.
