Lahontan Gold Corp Updates Mineral Resource Estimates at Santa Fe Mine
Lahontan Gold Corp has announced an updated Mineral Resource Estimate for its Santa Fe Mine in Nevada. The estimated resources have risen significantly, with Indicated Mineral Resources now standing at 1,539,000 gold equivalent ounces, an increase of 38% compared to 2023. Additionally, Inferred Mineral Resources are reported at 411,000 gold equivalent ounces.
The updated estimate is based on drill data, comprising 988 holes totaling over 97,000 meters. This includes recent drilling by Lahontan enhancing resource definition and expansion, particularly in the shallow oxide zones of the Slab-Calvada-York areas. Remarkably, oxide resources have nearly doubled since 2023.
The expansion suggests future exploration and resource growth potential, notably in the northern Slab deposit. The company plans to use these findings in a Preliminary Economic Assessment to explore resuming low-cost mining operations and is advancing mine permitting processes.
