Lara Sims Appointed Vice President of Health and Safety at Ivanhoe Electric Inc.

Ivanhoe Electric Inc. announced the appointment of Lara Sims as Vice President, Health, and Safety, effective April 8th, 2024. With over two decades of experience in the mining sector, Sims brings extensive expertise in developing and managing Health and Safety strategies. Her career has been marked by success in various roles across the U.S., including founding Sims 360, a consultancy focusing on adaptive Health and Safety frameworks for mining operations.

Sims' professional background includes positions at Rio Tinto, Ouray Silver Mines, Oceana Gold, and Nevada Copper. She holds a Technical Master's Degree in Safety Sciences and has a significant presence in the industry as the 2024 Communications Chair for the Health and Safety division of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration (SME). Additionally, Sims is a Certified Mine Safety Professional and actively participates in the Energy Resource Governance Initiative Academy.
