Lhyfe, OX2 and Velarion join forces for a green hydrogen industrial hub in Sweden
Green hydrogen pioneer Lhyfe is partnering with OX2 and Velarion to establish a hydrogen-focused industrial hub in Ånge Municipality, Sweden. The project will be powered by wind energy from the Marktjärn wind farm, which has a capacity of 1.4 TWh per year. The green energy produced will be used by Lhyfe to generate up to 100 tonnes of green hydrogen per day.
OX2, a developer of onshore wind turbines, will provide the electricity, while Lhyfe will produce the hydrogen. Velarion, a green fertilizer company, plans to build a plant to produce green ammonia from this hydrogen, thereby reducing carbon emissions.
The project, currently in the design study phase, will depend on the conclusions of this study, operating licenses and investment decisions. The aim is to make Ånge a green industrial hub, promoting the local economy and creating jobs.
