Linde Signs Long-Term Agreement to Supply Clean Hydrogen to Dow’s Path2Zero Project in Canada
Linde (Nasdaq: LIN) has announced a long-term agreement to supply clean hydrogen to Dow’s Path2Zero Project in Fort Saskatchewan, Canada. Linde will invest over $2 billion in building and operating an integrated clean hydrogen and atmospheric gases facility in Alberta.
The facility will utilize autothermal reforming and Linde’s HISORP® carbon capture technology to produce clean hydrogen. It will also recover hydrogen from Dow’s ethylene cracker off-gases. This initiative aims to support Dow’s net-zero emissions ethylene cracker and derivatives site, and supply clean hydrogen to other industrial clients focused on decarbonization.
Set to be completed by 2028, Linde’s Alberta complex will be the largest clean hydrogen production facility in Canada and one of the largest globally. The project aligns with Linde’s strategy for transitioning to a cleaner economy.
Linde’s CEO, Sanjiv Lamba, emphasized the importance of the project for sustainability, while Dow’s CEO, Jim Fitterling, highlighted its significance for decarbonization and shareholder returns. This collaboration marks a major step for both companies in driving towards a sustainable future.
