Lindt & Sprüngli Expands Cocoa Production in Olten, Switzerland

On May 3, 2024, Lindt & Sprüngli celebrated the opening of a significant expansion to their Lindt Cocoa Center in Olten, Switzerland. The company invested approximately 100 million Swiss francs into this project, enhancing the site's capacity to produce cocoa mass for various European production facilities. The expansion includes new production lines and facilities aimed at doubling the plant’s production capacity.

The Olten site has its roots in 1991, initially serving the Kilchberg plant. Over the years, it has grown to become the primary producer of Swiss cocoa mass for the group in Europe. This development not only increases production but also creates 12 new jobs, reinforcing the company's commitment to Switzerland as a strategic business hub.

CEO Marco Peter underscored the central role that the updated plant will play in the group's growth, emphasizing its state-of-the-art capabilities in cocoa mass production and the long-term commitment to the Swiss economic landscape.
