LION E-Mobility AG Reports Positive Preliminary Battery Tests and Financial Updates
LION E-Mobility AG has announced successful preliminary track tests for its high-performance LIGHT Battery using immersion cooling technology. Conducted by a German premium vehicle manufacturer, the tests in July 2024 showed that the battery exceeded current market standards by 30%. This marks a significant milestone for the company, despite a challenging market environment.
The Swiss-based firm reported Q2 2024 revenues of €4.8 million, up from €1.2 million in Q1, though EBITDA remained negative at -€2.1 million. LION has adjusted its full-year 2024 outlook, projecting no more than €42 million in sales and a potentially slightly negative EBITDA, due to the weak battery market.
In addition to these technical achievements, LION has entered into a new contract with DPDHL Group to supply battery modules for delivery vans and plans to sell its stake in TÜV Süd Battery Testing to focus on core technologies. The company also received €1.8 million in grants from the State of Thuringia to support its production base there.
