LION E-Mobility Announces Delivery Schedule for High-Performance SVolt Battery Packs

LION E-Mobility AG, a Swiss-based leader in battery pack manufacturing for e-mobility and energy storage, has detailed its collaboration with SVolt, a notable technology firm in the battery industry. The collaborative effort will see the first SVolt cell samples delivered to LION in May 2024, with the initial shipments of battery packs to customers slated for the fourth quarter of the same year. These battery packs will feature advanced NCM (NMX) High Energy and LFP cells, reflecting a leap in performance and market responsiveness.

In strengthening their partnership, LION E-Mobility and SVolt have committed to intensified cooperation in knowledge management and research and development (R&D). This collaboration aims to expedite the development of new battery technologies and to optimize the flow of technological innovations between the two partners. Dr. Joachim Damasky, CEO of LION, highlighted the partnership's potential to meet the surging market demand swiftly with high-quality, performance-oriented products.

The agreement further outlines plans to increase the production of NMC (NMX) High Energy and LFP cells in Europe by 2025. This move is intended to shorten the supply chain and enhance the environmental friendliness of logistics. It also positions the companies to leverage the anticipated growth of the battery market, driven by global trends such as increased electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure investments and advancements in battery technology.
